The challenge
It is important to understand end-use flexibility in buildings, related to heat pumps or solar power, for example, and how this affects power prices because it is critical to the profitability of investments in the energy system of the future and to decisions on how to operate the system.
The goal
To acquire the knowledge needed to model the interaction between energy use in buildings and the rest of the energy system, and how this influences the price of electricity.
The project
In Flexbuild, the project partners will develop and combine several different models to establish a framework for analysing the consequences of end-use flexibility. This will provide a valuable basis for making decisions relating to both investments and operations, such as the allocation of our hydropower resources and electricity trading with Europe.
